• Prepare weekly reports on stock movement, slow-moving items, fast-moving items, stockouts, and products nearing expiry.
• Analyse monthly sales performance by product, category, supplier, branch, and channel.

• Monitor inventory health, stock ageing, and expiry risks.
• Assist with demand forecasting and inventory planning.
• Develop and maintain dashboards using Excel and Power BI.

Role Purpose

The Commercial Data & Inventory Analyst Intern will support the business by analyzing sales, inventory, and product performance data to help management make informed decisions. The role focuses on identifying trends, reducing stock risks, improving inventory efficiency, and supporting business growth through data-driven recommendations.

Success in This Role

Within the first six months, you will be producing accurate weekly and monthly reports, identifying inventory opportunities and risks, and providing insights that help improve sales, stock availability, cash flow, and profitability.

Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports
Manage accounting, payroll, payables, receivables, and treasury functions
Oversee inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and financial controls
Monitor profitability by branch, category, and sales channel
Ensure statutory compliance, audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements
Support business expansion through financial modelling and analysis
Manage banking, supplier, auditor, and stakeholder relationships
Provide commercial insights and recommendations to leadership

- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field - CPA(K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification - Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior finance role - Experience in retail, FMCG, distribution, or multi-branch operations preferred - Strong ERP, Excel, reporting, and financial analysis skills
