Catnip Spray contains catnip and valerian root containing nepetalactone, an active organic compound which causes behavioral change in cats. Cats inhale the aromatic oils of catnip and valerian root, where they come into contact with special receptors in the cat’s nose. These receptors are linked to the brain and affect the cat’s behavior.
The allure of plant extracts in Catnip Spray stimulates the instincts of playing games in most cats, providing a burst of playful energy, usually followed by a mellow period.
Some cats that are not affected by catnip oil may react to the cat root. Therefore, a synergistic effect was created by using two active ingredients in Catnip Spray to increase products efficiency.
The effect may vary from cats, but it often makes our furry friends calm and happy.
- Spray on your cat’s scratching post and bedding to encourage use.
- Spray on toys to promote active play and exercise.
- Spray in a new environment to encourage shy cats to be comfortable and help cat-to-cat introductions go smoothly and familiarize a cat with a new accessory.
- Use Catnip spray in the carrier or crate to reduce anxiety and create a sedative state during trips.
